Postgraduate scholarships do exist for students. However, they usually offer much less of a stipend, requiring you to seek out additional funding. There are different types of postgraduate scholarships one can apply for and they can vary based on location, school, or how extensive your networking skills are:
College-based Postgraduate Scholarships
Some colleges resort to generous methods in order to keep their enrollment numbers up. Many of which will offer their students a chance to enroll in graduate programs for discounted prices provided that they stay at the same institution they received their undergraduate degree. Many of these postgraduate scholarships aren’t advertised and are offered based on GPA, test scores, and extra curricular participation. Organizational Postgraduate Scholarships
Professional organizations such as fraternities, sororities, or academic clubs often reward students with postgraduate scholarships. There are some programs that require extended education, and scholarships can be given so that students can extend those studies. Nursing organizations, for example, offer members tuition reimbursements for earning their advanced degrees in medicine.

- The North American Interfraternal Foundation provides graduate scholarships to students who are former members of a fraternity, sorority, or an honor organization.
- ISC Security Scholarships award $12,500 a year to 8 lucky graduate students who are pursuing a master’s in computer information security.
- The Jack Kent Cook Foundation Graduate Scholarship gives up to $50,000 to 40 outstanding seniors who demonstrate a propensity for success and a definite need for financial help.
- The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship gives $7,500 to 174 students who also participate in a college sport.
- Those pursuing a career in teaching can apply for the Graduate Student Scholar Award, which gives $1,000 to college seniors majoring in education.
International Postgraduate Scholarships
Colleges are always looking for a way offer a more cultured education to its students. In order to bridge the gap, international scholarship programs are offered to students that allow them to earn their graduate degree abroad. Catered toward the most ambitious students, the Fulbright Program is one of the better-known international postgraduate scholarships. Funded by Congress, this scholarship awards around 1,500 students a year. The Institute for International Education is another well-established scholarship program that provides funding for eligible grad students. In many cases, international postgraduate scholarships will base their financial aid on the requirements that students conduct special research and teach Basic English in a foreign country.
